Garabit, 130 years of momentum
Acrylic on 3D canvas – 80 x 80 cm
Painted slices – work created in 2018
In the heart of Cantal, a ribbon of red steel cuts through the green valleys and embraces the sky. Garabit , a prodigy of engineering and elegance, celebrates its 130th anniversary here in a symphony of luminous points and vibrant greens.
On this patiently crafted canvas, each tree, each path, each reflection of the Truyère River is born from an infinite dance of small gestures. Beneath the artist's fingers, nature unfolds in a living mosaic, teeming with detail and light. The viaduct, imposing and ethereal, soars above the river like a delicate giant, standing tall in the poetry of the landscape.
Painted partly on site, under the gaze of visitors who came to celebrate this unique anniversary, this work carries within it the thrill of the moment: the anguish of the last stitch, the shared emotion, the vibrant joy of a rare and precious public creation.
Today, Garabit continues its journey, silent guardian of a memory of celebration, patience and friendship, immortalized by the passionate hand of the artist.
